Mike Evans Returns to 49ers Practice
Mike Evans is back at 49ers practice after missing time with a strained left quad.
The San Francisco 49ers received some good news on Tuesday as WR Mike Evans returned to practice after missing time with a strained left quad.
Evans had been held out as the 49ers took a cautious approach with their receiver, but head coach Kyle Shanahan previously made it clear that the team wasn’t overly concerned about his availability.
“Mike’s going to be a starting receiver here,” Shanahan said. “He’s got a little quad [injury] right now, which I know Mike, [he] probably believes he could be back right now. We’re being smart with him, but he’s going to be good to go.”
Evans Expected to Have Major Role in San Francisco
Despite the recent quad injury, Shanahan has already confirmed that Evans will be one of San Francisco’s starting receivers.
The 49ers now have time to continue ramping him up before their regular-season opener against the Rams in Melbourne on September 10.
After taking a cautious approach with the veteran throughout his recovery, Mike Evans is officially back on the practice field.
