Colts Activate Alec Pierce Off PUP List

The Colts are getting one of their most important offensive weapons back on the field.

Alec Pierce has been activated off the physically unable to perform list and will begin ramping up for the 2026 season, according to Mike Chappell of Fox 59 Indianapolis.

Pierce has been sidelined since undergoing offseason ankle surgery in March. The Colts had been optimistic about his return after head coach Shane Steichen said earlier this week that the wide receiver was nearing a return to practice.

This follows Indy signing Pierce to a 4-year, $114M contract extension in March.

Pierce is coming off the best season of his career in 2025. He recorded 47 receptions for 1,003 yards and 6 touchdowns across 15 games while establishing his connection with quarterback Daniel Jones.

Through 64 career games, Pierce has totaled 157 receptions for 2,934 yards and 17 touchdowns.

With Pierce now off the PUP list, he will have more than two weeks to ramp up before the Colts open the regular season against the Ravens. His availability for Week 1 is not yet guaranteed, but his return to practice is a significant step in the right direction.
