Packers RT Zach Bako-Bewele Out for Season
Green Bay will turn to Anthony Belton at right tackle after losing Zach Bako-Bewele for the season.
The Packers have lost starting RT Zach Bako-Bewele for the rest of the 2026 season after he suffered a complete tear of his right patellar tendon.
Bako-Bewele suffered the injury during Sunday’s win over the Jets and was carted off the field with his leg in an air cast. He told reporters on Tuesday that the injury was a complete tear and will require surgery on Thursday.
The 27-year-old is facing approximately a 9-month recovery following surgery, according to Matt Schneidman.
Unfortunately for Bako-Bewele, this is the same patellar tendon he partially tore last December.
Packers HC Matt LaFleur already expressed concern that the injury could be season-ending after Sunday’s game, and now it’s confirmed.
2025 2nd-round pick Anthony Belton is expected to take over as the starting right tackle.
Bako-Bewele received All-Pro votes in each of the last two seasons and signed a 4-year, $88M extension in 2025.
