Falcons Place CB A.J. Terrell Jr. on Injured Reserve

The Falcons will be without one of their top defensive players for at least the next four games after placing CB A.J. Terrell Jr. on injured reserve Tuesday.

Terrell suffered a groin injury during the first quarter of Atlanta’s 34-3 loss to the Panthers on Sunday. He was initially evaluated for a concussion and cleared testing, but the groin injury ultimately kept him out for the remainder of the game.

With Terrell now on IR, he will miss Thursday night’s matchup against the Packers and at least three additional weeks before becoming eligible to return.

C.J. Henderson replaced Terrell against Carolina and could remain the starter on the outside opposite Mike Hughes.

A.J. Terrell recorded six tackles and two pass breakups through Atlanta’s first two games of the season.
