Lane Johnson Says 2026 Will Likely Be His Final NFL Season

Philadelphia Eagles RT Lane Johnson indicated Saturday that the 2026 season will be the final year of his NFL career, telling reporters, “This is probably my last year.”

Speaking for the first time since returning from a multiple-day excused absence, Johnson told reporters that balancing football with his family has become his main focus, saying he wants to spend more time with his kids as they get older, adding “it’s hard to get time back.” Johnson added that his mother is currently dealing with health issues.

Philadelphia selected Johnson No. 4 overall in the 2013 NFL Draft, and he has spent his entire career with the Eagles. He has earned 6x Pro Bowl selections and 5x All-Pro honors while helping Philadelphia win not only its first championship but also a second Super Bowl, being just one of four Eagles to appear in both Super Bowl-winning teams.

Nothing is officially decided yet, but when the 2026 season comes to a close, we will likely be losing one of the greats.
