The New England Patriots are keeping one of Drake Maye’s most reliable weapons around for the next few seasons.
New England signed veteran TE Hunter Henry to a 2-year, $16M extension that can reach $20M, according to Adam Schefter. The deal includes $14.5M in guarantees and a $4.2M signing bonus.
Henry was entering the final year of his previous contract, but the new extension now keeps the 31-year-old under contract through the 2028 season and gives him a chance to finish his NFL career in New England.
The former 2016 2nd-round pick originally spent five seasons with the Chargers before signing with the Patriots in 2021.
Henry appeared in all 17 games in 2025, recording 60 catches for a career-high 768 receiving yards and 7 TDs. He has now recorded at least 40 catches in each of his five seasons with the Patriots.
Since entering the NFL in 2016:
- 455 receptions
- 5,295 receiving yards
- 47 TDs
His 47 receiving TDs rank 5th among NFL TEs over that span, while his 5,295 receiving yards rank 6th.
