Jordyn Tyson SUFFERS Hamstring Injury
Early indications point to this injury not being serious, but worth watching.
Saints rookie WR Jordyn Tyson left Thursday’s practice early with a trainer after experiencing another hamstring issue. Head Coach Kellen Moore did not provide any specifics.
According to Mike Triplett, Tyson had gotten off to a strong start at practice before the hamstring injury ended his day early. Following up, Saints reporter Nick Underhill stated that he was told the injury is not considered “super serious,” although it’s still not ideal for someone who has dealt with hamstring injuries in the past.
Last year, we saw Tyson suffer a hamstring injury during his final season at Arizona State, and it continued to bother him to the point that it prevented the receiver from participating in drills at the NFL Combine and from working out at Arizona State’s Pro Day.
Dane Brugler of The Athletic previously raised concerns about Tyson’s durability, pinpointing the several injuries throughout his college career. Tyson’s injury history also includes a torn ACL, MCL and PCL, which made his health one of the biggest questions surrounding him.
However, when healthy, Tyson was one of the most productive receivers in college, finishing his career with 158 receptions for 2,282 yards and 22 TDs across 33 games.
For now, the early indication surrounding Thursday’s injury appears encouraging, but definitely something to monitor.
