Ravens Place Skylar Thompson on IR, Sign QB Austin Reed
Skylar Thompsons season is cut effectively over.
The Baltimore Ravens made a change to their quarterback room Wednesday, placing Skylar Thompson on injured reserve and signing quarterback Austin Reed.
Thompson missed practice Sunday and Tuesday with an undisclosed injury. Because Baltimore placed him on IR before the 53-man roster cuts, his season is over unless released by the Ravens with an injury settlement.
Ravens Add Austin Reed
To fill Thompson’s spot, Baltimore signed Reed, who is coming off a season with the Dallas Renegades of the UFL.
Reed finished second in the UFL with 1,923 passing yards while setting a league single-season record with 21 passing touchdowns. He also threw 9 interceptions and started all 10 games for Dallas.
The 25-year-old previously spent time with the Bears after going undrafted in 2024.
