49ers Sign Eli Apple, Xavier Thomas and Zamir White

San Francisco made several roster moves Wednesday, signing CB Eli Apple, DL Xavier Thomas and RB Zamir White to 1-year deals. To make room on the roster, the 49ers waived WR Junior Bergen and P Jack Bouwmeester and waived/injured DL K.J. Henry.

Eli Apple Returns to San Francisco

Apple is back with the 49ers just 10 days after the team waived him on August 2.

The former No. 10 overall pick has played for seven teams across his 10-year NFL career, appearing in 104 games with 82 starts. Apple has recorded 380 tackles, 61 pass breakups, 6 INTs, 7 fumble recoveries and 3 forced fumbles.

Apple also appeared in two games for San Francisco during the 2025 season.

49ers Add Xavier Thomas to Defensive Line

Thomas joins San Francisco after spending his first two NFL seasons with the Cardinals.

Arizona selected Thomas in the 5th round of the 2024 NFL Draft. The former Clemson pass rusher has appeared in 18 career games, recording 10 tackles, 2.5 sacks, 1 pass breakup and 1 forced fumble.

Thomas played in four games for Arizona last season.

Zamir White Joins 49ers Backfield

The 49ers also added White after the former Raiders RB recently worked out for the team.

White was selected by Las Vegas in the 4th round of the 2022 NFL Draft and has appeared in 45 games with 9 starts.

Across four seasons, White has recorded 198 carries for 736 yards and 2 TDs while adding 25 receptions for 152 yards.

He appeared in six games during the 2025 season, finishing with 12 carries for 32 yards and 4 receptions for 24 yards.
