Von Miller Signs With Cowboys

Von Miller wanted to play for the Cowboys, and now he’s officially getting his opportunity.

The Cowboys have agreed to terms with the veteran pass rusher after Miller announced the move himself on social media, posting a photo in a No. 40 Cowboys jersey.

“Dallas! Let’s make this one Special!”

The move brings Miller back home to Texas. The 37-year-old grew up in DeSoto, just miles away from AT&T Stadium, before becoming a star at Texas A&M and eventually the No. 2 overall pick in the 2011 NFL Draft.

Earlier this offseason, Miller openly expressed interest in playing for the Cowboys and even posted a photo of himself wearing a Cowboys jersey with a “Shhh” emoji.

Despite being one of the NFL’s oldest active defenders, Miller showed last season that he can still get after the quarterback.

In his lone season with the Commanders, Miller recorded:

🔶 9 sacks
🔶 26 tackles
🔶 6 tackles for loss
🔶 37% of defensive snaps

His 9 sacks were his most since 2021 despite playing a limited role in Washington.

Just days before agreeing to terms with the Cowboys, Miller posted a workout montage and made it clear he still believes he can produce at a high level, setting a goal of recording at least 8 sacks this season.

Across 14 NFL seasons with the Broncos, Rams, Bills and Commanders, Miller has recorded 138.5 career sacks while building a résumé that includes two Super Bowl championships.

He won his first championship with the Broncos and was named Super Bowl 50 MVP before later helping the Rams win another title.

After months of publicly flirting with the idea of wearing a Cowboys jersey, Miller finally gets his homecoming.
