Rams Trade For Tutu Atwell From The Dolphins

The Rams are bringing back a familiar face ahead of the 2026 season, after trading for receiver Tutu Atwell from the Dolphins in exchange for running back Jarquez Hunter, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The move sends Atwell back to the team that selected him in the 2nd round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He spent the first five seasons of his career with the Rams before signing a 1-year, $1.4M contract with Miami this offseason.

Atwell entered training camp with an opportunity to earn a starting role, but his roster spot became increasingly uncertain as camp progressed. Rookie Caleb Douglas moved ahead of him on the depth chart.

Rather than potentially moving on from Atwell during final roster cuts, Miami was able to get something out of it. Meanwhile, the Rams get to reunite with Tutu, as there was no certainty he’d go unclaimed on waivers if the Dolphins did release him.

Atwell appeared in 64 games during his first stint in Los Angeles, recording 105 receptions for 1,535 yards and 5 touchdowns.
