Packers running back Josh Jacobs pleaded no contest to misdemeanor battery and criminal damage to property charges in a Wisconsin courtroom Thursday.
Jacobs appeared in Brown County court just days before the Packers regular season opener against the Vikings.
The court ordered Jacobs to stay away from the victim, remain under supervision, receive counseling, and pay restitution.
On the battery charge, Jacobs was ordered to pay a $1,000 fine plus costs. A deferred judgment agreement was also accepted.
The District Attorney said he would not seek jail time for Jacobs.
Jacobs also addressed the situation in court: “I fully understand the seriousness of the situation and I take full responsibility.”
The charges stem from a reported incident involving Jacobs and his girlfriend at his Hobart home in May.
Jacobs has been on the NFL Commissioner’s Exempt List, which has kept him away from the team. NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported that the NFL’s decision regarding a potential suspension for Jacobs is expected.
