Army Extends Jeff Monken Through 2030

Army is keeping one of the most successful coaches in program history at West Point for at least the next 5-years.

Head coach Jeff Monken has agreed to terms on a new 5-year contract that runs through the 2030 season, according to ESPN’s Pete Thamel.

Monken is entering his 13th season leading the Black Knights after taking over the program in 2014. He holds an 89-63 record at Army, placing him second on the program’s all-time wins list behind legendary head coach Red Blaik.

The Black Knights are 19-8 since the beginning of the 2024 season and have continued to establish themselves as one of the best military academy programs in the country.

Army’s 2024 season was one of the best in school history. Monken led the Black Knights to a 12-2 record, setting a new program record for wins in a season. Army also secured an AAC championship during its first season in the conference, earning Monken AAC Coach of the Year honors.

The Black Knights followed that season by going 7-6 in 2025 and finishing the year with a Fenway Bowl victory. Army also picked up road wins over Kansas State and Air Force.

The Black Knights have won 13 of their last 19 games against Navy and Air Force and have captured four Commander-in-Chief’s Trophy titles under Monken

Now, Army has ensured the coach behind that run will remain at West Point through at least the 2030 season.
