Cardinals LOVED Carson Beck’s NFL Debut

The Arizona Cardinals got an encouraging first look at rookie quarterback Carson Beck during Thursday night’s Hall of Fame Game, as the third-round pick delivered an EFFICIENT performance despite Arizona falling 33-30 to the Carolina Panthers.

Beck completed 15 of 19 passes for 188 yards and one touchdown, finishing with a 125.4 passer rating while leading the Cardinals to 17 points during his time on the field. He consistently looked comfortable in the pocket, showed good touch on downfield throws, and overall delivery on every aspect a team would want in a rookie’s debut.

One of the biggest highlights came on a perfectly placed back-shoulder touchdown pass to Simi Fehoko, for Beck’s first TD of the preseason. After the game, first-year head coach Mike LaFleur praised Beck for his command of the offense,

While one preseason game won’t change Arizona’s quarterback plans with Jacoby Brissett currently QB1 on the depth chart, Beck’s debut has definitely raised questions about when we could potentially see him play during the regular season. If he continues to build on this performance throughout the preseason, the questions will only get louder.
