Cardinals Sign Hjalte Froholdt to 2-Year, $20M Extension

The Cardinals are keeping one of the most consistent pieces of their offensive line around through the 2028 season.

Arizona has agreed to terms with center Hjalte Froholdt on a 2-year, $20M contract extension that will keep him with the Cardinals through the 2028 season, according to Ian Rapoport.

Froholdt has been a MAJOR presence since joining Arizona in 2023, starting all 51 games at center over the past three seasons. He is the only player currently on the Cardinals roster to have started all 17 games in each of those seasons.

In 2025, Froholdt was named a captain for the first time in his career.

Froholdt has also played a major role in Arizona’s rushing success. In 2024, the Cardinals rushed for 2,451 yards while averaging 5.3 yards per carry, the highest single-season rushing average in franchise history. The offensive line also allowed just 30 sacks that season, the 5th-fewest in the NFL.

The Patriots 2019 4th-round pick has also spent time with the Browns before signing with Arizona in 2023 and has since developed into the Cardinals’ OL anchor.
