Cardinals Sign WR Michael Wilson to 3-Year Extension

The Cardinals are signing WR Michael Wilson to a 3-year, $75M extension that can be worth up to $78M, according to Adam Schefter.

Wilson is coming off a breakout 2025 season in which he recorded 78 catches for 1,006 receiving yards and 7 touchdowns, establishing himself as Arizona’s top receiver last year.

Across his first 2 NFL seasons combined, Wilson recorded 85 catches for 1,110 receiving yards and 7 touchdowns. He nearly matched those numbers in 2025 alone while surpassing 1,000 receiving yards for the first time in his career.

Arizona originally selected Wilson in the 3rd round of the 2023 NFL Draft out of Stanford and will now stay with the Cardinals through the 2029 season.

The extension comes after uncertainty over whether the two sides would reach an agreement ahead of Week 1.

Just one day before the deal, ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler reported that Arizona had attempted to extend Wilson, but the likeliest outcome at the time was for the 26-year-old receiver to play out the final year of his rookie contract and become a key free agent next spring.

The receiver market has continued to climb around the league, after Colts WR Alec Pierce recently signed a 4-year, $114M extension worth $28.5M per year after putting together similar production during his rookie contract.

That gave Wilson’s agents a potential benchmark as he entered the final year of his rookie deal. Instead of allowing Wilson to test that market next spring, Arizona ultimately found common ground with the receiver and secured him for another 3 years.

In what will likely be a down year for the Cardinals regardless, Arizona clearly wants Wilson around for the long haul and is rewarding him after the best season of his young career.
