Chiefs Claim LB Jack Pyburn, Ending Return to College Football
Jack Pyburn had been fighting for another season at LSU, but the Chiefs made a waiver claim for the rookie.
Jack Pyburn will remain in the NFL after the Kansas City Chiefs claimed the former Buccaneers LB off waivers.
Pyburn previously filed a lawsuit against the NCAA seeking another season of college eligibility and received a temporary restraining order that allowed him to enter the transfer portal.
The former LSU defender had already taken the field for Tampa Bay during the preseason, recording 2 sacks in his NFL debut and earning a 71.0 PFF grade.
After being waived by the Buccaneers during final roster cuts, however, Pyburn became available through the waiver system.
Kansas City claimed him, ending any dreams of returning to LSU. Pyburn has informed the Tigers that he intends to remain in the NFL following the waiver claim.
