Chiefs Rookie Mansoor Delane Trending Toward Week 2 Return
Mansoor Delane returned as a full participant Wednesday after suffering a shoulder injury just 3 snaps into his NFL debut.
The Chiefs received encouraging news on rookie CB Mansoor Delane after his Week 1 shoulder injury.
Delane was a full participant in Wednesday’s practice, putting him on track to potentially return for Kansas City’s Week 2 matchup against the Colts.
HC Andy Reid was optimistic about Delane’s availability, saying: “There’s a pretty good chance [Delane] is back out there Sunday.”
The rookie suffered the injury just 3 defensive snaps into his NFL debut against the Broncos. Delane intercepted Bo Nix on his third career snap before landing on his shoulder and leaving the game.
Initial concern surrounded the injury after Delane couldn’t return Monday night, but the Chiefs received positive news that the shoulder issue wasn’t believed to be serious.
Kansas City also had several other notable names on Wednesday’s injury report. DT Chris Jones was limited with a calf injury, while DB Chamarri Conner and LT Josh Simmons did not participate due to knee and back injuries.
