Eagles place Landon Dickerson on IR

The Philadelphia Eagles are placing left guard Landon Dickerson on injured reserve, the team announced today.

Dickerson re-aggrivated a knee injury that has lingered for over a year now and will miss at least Philadelphia’s next 4 games.

The Eagles offensive line will seek a replacement at left guard for the next short period, with 2nd year guard Drew Kendall the likely suitor for the job.

Dickerson is just 27 years old and just 2 seasons ago received a 3rd consecutive Pro Bowl selection, but even admitted that retirement played on his mind throughout the off-season.

Head coach Nick Sirianni went into bat for his starting left guard, calling him “tough as heck” and even citing a few great plays he made against the Commanders despite the injury.

One of the league’s greatest offensive lines for the last decade is starting to reach the latter stages of its tenure and the front office will have one eye open on what its future looks like.
