Giants Sign RB Najee Harris

The Giants are signing veteran RB Najee Harris following his workout with the team on Monday, the NFL announced.

Harris reportedly looked good during the workout, but John Harbaugh said he is not yet 100% in football shape as he continues working his way back from the torn Achilles that ended his 2025 season.

Harbaugh said getting Harris fully back into football shape “would be a process,” while adding that based on what the Giants saw during the workout, Harris has “got a shot.”

Now, New York is giving him less than 24 hours following his workout.

Harris appeared in just 3 games for the Chargers last season, recording 61 rushing yards on 15 carries before suffering the Achilles injury.

Before joining the Chargers, Harris spent the first 4 seasons of his career with the Steelers after Pittsburgh selected him with the No. 24 overall pick in the 2021 Draft.

Harris was one of the league’s most durable running backs during that stretch, never missing a game and surpassing 1,000 rushing yards in all 4 seasons. He has recorded 4,373 rushing yards and 28 rushing TDs over his career.

The 28-year-old had also drawn interest from the Seahawks and Raiders this offseason before working out for the Giants on Monday.

Considering Harbaugh’s comments about easing Harris back in, his return to a full workload could take some time, but the former 1st-round pick will now get his chance to complete his comeback in New York.
