Jaguars Acquire QB Quinn Ewers From Dolphins
Jacksonville adds another quarterback to its roster while Miami moves on from its 2025 7th-round pick.
The Jaguars are trading for QB Quinn Ewers from the Dolphins in exchange for a swap of 2028 Day 3 picks, per Adam Schefter.
Trade Summary
- Jaguars receive: QB Quinn Ewers
- Dolphins receive: 2028 Day 3 pick swap
Ewers had been considered a potential roster cut in Miami after struggling throughout training camp and was fighting for a spot on the 53-man roster.
The 23-year-old was selected by the Dolphins in the 7th round of the 2025 NFL Draft and appeared in four games as a rookie, including three starts.
Ewers completed 66.3% of his passes for 662 yards, three touchdowns and three interceptions, with Miami going 1-2 in his three starts.
The trade gives Ewers a fresh start in Jacksonville rather than hitting waivers during final roster cuts.
The Jaguars currently have Trevor Lawrence, Nick Mullens, Carter Bradley and rookie Joey Aguilar in the quarterback room, while Miami has Cam Miller and Mark Gronowski behind starter Malik Willis.
