Jets Sign QB Will Levis to Practice Squad, Release Bailey Zappe

The Jets are adding another quarterback to their roster, signing former Titans QB Will Levis to their practice squad.

Levis worked out for the Jets earlier this month after being released by Tennessee in August. New York has also released QB Bailey Zappe from the practice squad in a corresponding move.

Levis, a 2nd-round pick in the 2023 Draft, spent his first three seasons with the Titans. He made 21 starts over his first two seasons, throwing for 3,899 yards, 21 TDs and 16 interceptions while completing 61% of his passes.

His most recent game action came in 2024, when he went 2-10 as a starter before being benched for the final two games. Tennessee selected Cam Ward with the No. 1 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, while Levis missed the entire 2025 season after undergoing shoulder surgery.

The Titans ultimately released Levis during roster cuts this August, opening the door for the 27-year-old to find another opportunity.

Levis now joins a Jets QB room led by Geno Smith, who remains the starter, while 2026 4th-round pick Cade Klubnik currently serves as the backup.
