Joey Porter Jr. Leaves Steelers Practice Early

The Steelers received another development on CB Joey Porter Jr. on Thursday as he left practice early with a trainer.

Porter began practice participating in stretching and some individual work. However, afterward he walked off the field with a trainer.

As of now, there is no update on why Porter left practice.

This follows HC Mike McCarthy saying Porter was expected to increase his workload Thursday as he continued working his way back into action.

Porter missed Pittsburgh’s Week 1 win over the Falcons after dealing with a back injury throughout the summer. He spent training camp on the physically unable to perform list before returning to practice on a limited basis last week.

Porter’s availability will now be something to monitor as the Steelers continue preparations for Week 2.
