Jordyn Tyson To Miss Two Months With Hamstring Injury
The Saints rookie is looking at a return timeline of mid October.
Saints rookie WR Jordyn Tyson is expected to miss around two months with a hamstring injury suffered during practice last week, according to Mike Garafolo.
Saints HC Kellen Moore said the latest issue is separate from the hamstring injury Tyson dealt with during the spring.
This is a surprise, as Saints reporter Nick Underhill reported at the time that the injury was not considered “super serious,” but it has now been revealed that Tyson is expected to miss roughly two months.
That timeline makes Tyson a candidate for injured reserve, which would sideline him for at least four games. With the current recovery timeline, Tyson could potentially return around mid-October, making it likely the 8th overall pick starts his career on IR.
Tyson has dealt with hamstring problems since his final season at Arizona State. A hamstring injury prevented him from participating in drills at the NFL Combine and from working out at Arizona State’s Pro Day.
Durability was one of the concerns surrounding Tyson entering the NFL. His college injury history also included a torn ACL, MCL and PCL.
When healthy, Tyson became one of CFB’s most productive receivers, finishing his career with 158 receptions for 2,282 yards and 22 TDs across 33 games.
