Kirk Cousins, Ashton Jeanty Miss Wednesday’s Practice
Rookie QB Fernando Mendoza handled first-team reps Wednesday with Kirk Cousins and Ashton Jeanty both sidelined
The Raiders were without two key offensive players during Wednesday’s practice, with QB Kirk Cousins and RB Ashton Jeanty both not participating.
Jeanty remains sidelined with an ankle injury and missed practice again Wednesday. The Raiders did not place the second-year running back on injured reserve ahead of the regular season, which would’ve sidelined him for at least 4 games, meaning he will be available at some point during the first month of the season, potentially even Week 1.
The reason for Cousins’ absence is currently unknown.
Cousins appeared on the practice field before the end of the media viewing period wearing a red jersey and a hat. After practice, HC Klint Kubiak said it was a rest day for the veteran QB.
With Cousins sidelined, rookie QB Fernando Mendoza handled first-team offensive reps.
Las Vegas is set to face the Miami Dolphins on Sept. 13.
