Patriots, Seahawks Make Roster Moves Ahead of Season Opener

The Patriots and Seahawks made several roster moves ahead of their Week 1 matchup on Wednesday night.

New England elevated RB Lan Larison and P Mitch Wishnowsky from the practice squad to the active roster for the game.

Larison originally signed with the Patriots as an undrafted rookie in 2025 before spending his entire rookie season on injured reserve. His elevation comes as RB TreVeyon Henderson is already ruled out against Seattle with an ankle injury.

Wishnowsky also gets the call after joining New England’s practice squad at the end of August. The veteran punter spent his first six NFL seasons with the 49ers before appearing in 13 games for the Bills last season.

The Seahawks signed S AJ Finley from the practice squad to the 53-man roster and elevated S Rodney Thomas II and RB Velus Jones Jr. for Wednesday night’s game. G Bryce Cabeldue was waived to create a roster spot for Finley.

The moves give Seattle additional depth at safety, with Ty Okada ruled out due to a hamstring injury and Nick Emmanwori listed as questionable as he works his way back from ankle surgery.

Either Finley or Thomas could step into the starting lineup alongside Julian Love if needed.
