Roger Goodell Signs 4-Year Extension

Roger Goodell isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.

The NFL commissioner has agreed to a new 4-year extension that will keep him in charge through the 2030 season. His new contract runs through March 31, 2031, while his previous deal was set to expire in 2027.

Goodell, 67, has served as commissioner since September 2006 after succeeding Paul Tagliabue. This marks the 5th-extension Goodell has received, following previous extensions in 2009, 2012, 2017 and 2023.

Financial terms of the new agreement were not disclosed. However, more than 95% of Goodell’s total compensation will be performance based and tied to the league’s overall success.
