Chiefs’ Justin Watson Injury Considered Minor

During Wednesday’s training camp practice, Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Justin Watson experienced a minor foot injury, prompting concern among the team. The injury occurred during an 11-on-11 drill when Watson caught a pass from quarterback Patrick Mahomes. As he made the reception, Watson slid to the ground and appeared to drag his left foot, causing it to roll awkwardly. He immediately grabbed his foot, signaling for medical assistance.

Watson was assisted to the sidelines and spent an extended period in the medical tent with athletic trainers before being carted off the field. Despite the initial worry, a source informed Chiefs Digest that Watson’s foot issue is minor, and he is expected to return to action within a few days.

In addition to Watson, cornerback Nazeeh Johnson also left practice as a precaution after experiencing discomfort in his right knee, the same knee in which he tore his ACL last August. Johnson had started the practice at right cornerback opposite Trent McDuffie, marking his first time starting ahead of Joshua Williams during training camp.

The Chiefs will continue to monitor both players’ recoveries closely as they progress through training camp, hoping to have them back to full strength soon.
