Bears WR Luther Burden III out with Groin Injury

Chicago Bears WR Luther Burden III is expected to miss some time after suffering a groin injury during Saturday’s practice, according to Ian Rapoport.

There is currently no reported timetable for Burden’s return, but Rapoport described the injury as “one to keep an eye on” after the second-year receiver had been standing out throughout training camp.

Burden suffered the injury during the final rep of red zone one-on-ones. He and CB Tyrique Stevenson got tangled up while competing for a pass from Caleb Williams, with both players going down after the play.

Burden was able to get up and walk off under his own power, but he did not return to practice.

The former Mizzou star finished his rookie season with 47 receptions for 652 yards and 2 TDs, giving the Bears a productive young receiver to continue developing alongside Rome Odunze.

Burden had also been generating plenty of attention throughout training camp with his performance in one-on-ones and team periods before suffering the injury.

Chicago has not provided an exact timeline for how long Burden could be sidelined.
