Commanders WR Jaylin Lane Suffers Fractured, Dislocated Ankle, Likely Done for Season
Washington will have to replace one of its top special teams weapons.
The Commanders appear to have lost one of their top return specialists for the remainder of the season following Sunday’s loss to the Colts in London.
WR and returner Jaylin Lane suffered both a fractured and dislocated ankle, with the injury likely ending his season, according to Ian Rapoport.
Lane was injured while returning a punt during the third quarter and was carted off the field before quickly being ruled out. His ankle has since been stabilized, and he remains in London to undergo further testing before returning to the United States.
The 24-year-old was selected by Washington in the 4th round of the 2025 draft and had developed into a major contributor on special teams.
Through 4 games this season, Lane returned 7 punts for 84 yards and 12 kickoffs for 295 yards. He also caught 2 passes for 25 yards.
Washington will now have to find a replacement in the return game, with Lane expected to miss the remainder of the 2026 season.
