Will Campbell’s Super Bowl Collapse

Will Campbell’s Super Bowl was a nightmare, and it’s raising real questions in New England.

The Patriots couldn’t protect Drake Maye in Super Bowl LX, and the biggest issue came off the left side. Rookie LT Will Campbell was overwhelmed all night, allowing 14 pressures, the most any offensive lineman has given up in a single game this season, regular season or playoffs.

It didn’t stop there. Campbell finished the postseason with 29 pressures allowed, the most ever tracked by Next Gen Stats. Maye was sacked 21 times across four playoff games, a record no QB wants.

After the loss, Campbell declined to speak with reporters and left the locker room without comment, per multiple reports.

Campbell was the No. 4 overall pick in the 2025 draft and was drafted to be the blindside protector of the future. Instead, his rookie year ended with serious concerns.

Either Campbell takes a major step forward in 2026, or the Patriots are going to have to rethink how they protect their franchise quarterback about whether his long-term future is at left tackle or if a move inside to guard makes more sense.
