Keon Coleman’s Potential Landing Spots

Following the disaster press conference from the Bills on Wednesday, where Bills owner Terry Pegula threw receiver Keon Coleman under the bus, blaming McDermott and the coaching staff for drafting him despite evidence showing otherwise, Brandon Beane recorded essentially a documentary praising himself for the pick. Some real quotes directly from Beane:

“I went to bed that night saying it’s Keon unless someone blows us away.”
“Barring someone offers us something stupid. We’ll take Keon Coleman.”

That said, maybe it’s time for Buffalo to trade the former FSU star. Here are three teams that should be ready to pounce if or when Coleman becomes available.

San Francisco 49ers
GM John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan said in their end-of-season press conference that they will look for a receiver to add this year, including trades. With Brandon Aiyuk’s upcoming departure and potentially losing Jauan Jennings to free agency, they need a replacement. Shanahan is great with player development and could be the key to unlocking Coleman’s true NFL talent.

Tennessee Titans
I’d expect the Titans to search the draft for their future WR1, as Calvin Ridley is clearly not that guy Tennessee was hoping for when they signed him to a four-year, $92 million deal in 2024. While Tennessee has Chimere Dike and Elic Ayomahor, who have been absolute steals for the team, adding Keon Coleman would be a low-cost move to give Cam Ward another potential weapon. Might as well take the chance to help your former No. 1 overall pick.

New Orleans Saints
The Saints’ receiver room is one of the biggest question marks. With trading Rashid Shaheed and Chris Olave constantly dealing with injuries despite his absurd level of talent, it’s hard not to imagine the Saints making a significant overhaul to help with the development of Tyler Shough, who has emerged in the latter half of the year as the team’s clear franchise QB. Similar to the Titans’ situation, I expect them to address this lack of depth in the draft and free agency. I would not be surprised if all it took was a Day 3 pick to pry Keon Coleman away from Buffalo. Additionally, Coleman is from Louisiana, so nothing like a reunion to hype the fanbase. Adding a big body to the team’s lacking receiver depth could have a massive impact on Shough’s development.
