Odell Beckham Jr. Signs With Vikings Following Giants Release
Odell Beckham Jr. is reuniting with Vikings HC Kevin O’Connell after the two won Super Bowl LVI together with the Rams.
Odell Beckham Jr. has another chance to continue his NFL career, reuniting with a coach from one of the most successful stops.
The Vikings announced Wednesday that they have signed Beckham to their practice squad, just over a week after the veteran receiver was released by the Giants.
Beckham’s move to Minnesota reunites him with Vikings HC Kevin O’Connell, who served as the Rams offensive coordinator during Beckham’s run with LA in 2021.
That season ended with Beckham winning his first Super Bowl. After joining Los Angeles midway through the year, he caught 27 passes for 305 yards and 5 touchdowns in 8 regular-season games. Beckham added another 21 catches for 288 yards and 2 touchdowns during the playoffs before suffering a torn ACL in Super Bowl LVI.
Now 33, Beckham returned to the Giants this offseason for a second stint with the franchise that drafted him 12th overall in 2014. However, the reunion was short-lived.
Beckham appeared in 3 games for New York this season but did not record a reception and on just 1 target. The Giants ultimately released him on September 29.
Despite his recent lack of playing time, Beckham brings an accomplished resume to Minnesota, having recorded 575 receptions for 7,987 receiving yards and 59 touchdowns across his career.
